lan's work often draws inspiration from sources as diverse as packaging design and archaeology. Here, he has created a pyramid shaped 'temple' reminiscent of stacks of cereal boxes seen in supermarkets. The surface iconography suggests struggles for human achievement and progress, and reflects divisions between rich and poor, success and failure, and between heaven and hell
